Walking

Walks are in abundance in the area, with a range of distances which will suit anyone. It is well worth a walk up to the Lonely Tree which overlooks the town, as well as there being numerous other routes. Maps of these walks are available from reception at the Hotel
 
Places to Visit

There are numerous places to visit in the local area. The first of these is Lake Vyrnwy, nestled in the foothills of the Berwyn mountains it was constructed in the 19th century and still provides water to Birmingham and Liverpool. Pistylll Rhayader is thought by many to be the highest waterfall in the world, and is considered the seventh wonder of wales! With breath-taking views and the rushing water, it is well worth a visit. Powys Castle is a 20 minute drive away, and it's gardens and house make it a must-see location, it also caters for those of all ages.

In Llanfyllin

There is a great deal to do in Llanfyllin. There is a leisure centre with swimming and Squash facilites and a fully functioning multi-gym; there are also tennis courts and football facilities and an all weather pitch. There are also numerous shops offering local produce, as well as the new River-side walk which has varied wild-life and fauna, as well as stunning views of the berwyn mountains.
